The call feature on WhatsApp came almost 4 years before. WhatsApp has been dutifully releasing new features thereafter. These features include but are not limited to group voice/video calls and the ability to turn a WhatsApp voice call into a video call. And now call waiting feature has been added to the arsenal of every increasing features of WhatsApp. Previous to this update, users got missed calls or a full ring with no response whilst trying to connect with another individual who was on a call. This update solves the problem. The call receiver gets an alert that a third individual is trying to call them and gets an option of either engaging the call or rejecting it. This feature, however, is not foolproof yet, as users do not get the chance to merge calls like during normal carrier-based voice calls. There also is a downside as the app does not offer an option of putting a call on wait whilst attending another call. WhatsApp’s new update also gives users 3 new options to enable Dark Mode on the much-used social media platform. There is also an update for users with Android 9.0 or older, which is the set by battery saver option, where dark mode turns on automatically when the phone’s battery levels influence the theme of the application. In previous updates issued by WhatsApp this year, the app enabled a version where its users can choose who could add them to groups. there was also a beta update consisting of a disappearing message option for group chats, which was met with positive reactions by users worldwide.
