While everyone is panicking as well as curious to know what’s going on in the world many malicious tracking apps have started rising up for Android as well as iOS devices. These fake apps attract users to provide information or maps which will show the confirmed cases of Coronavirus affected people in their neighbourhood. If you have downloaded this app to know about the sick people around you for your information there isn’t any app that is capable of tracking the affected people around you. We would recommend you to immediately uninstall the app from your phone and install an antivirus or antimalware app to clean your device properly. Instead, Microsoft’s web portal will definitely provide up-to-date infection statistics for each country. It contains data collected from sources such as the Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Currently, it is showing 147 total confirmed cases in India out of which 14 have recovered and three fatal cases. It also suggests new videos related to the disease in the country. Over that, the internet is also flooded with information related to COVID-19 out of which there are videos that are misleading and spreading dangerous information to people across the globe. To this Google has taken a strong step by taking down thousands of such videos from its platform with the help of Artificial Intelligence-based technology. The company has also announced a temporary ban on all ads for medical masks and respirators. The company has collaborated with the US government and is developing a tracking web portal so that it can provide information, education and prevention as well as local resources. The Google CEO, Sunder Pichai said in his blog post, “On YouTube, we’ve taken down thousands of videos related to dangerous or misleading coronavirus information, and we continue to remove videos that promote medically unproven methods to prevent coronavirus in place of seeking medical treatment. On Google Maps, our automated and manual review systems continue to take down false and harmful content such as fake reviews and misleading information about healthcare locations.” For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
