“MTNL has doubled free data in all the broadband plans of landline as well as mobile for one month will effect from today so that people are encouraged to work from home,” MTNL Chairman and Managing Director Sunil Kumar told PTI. The MTNL double data offer is applicable in Delhi and Mumbai where the organization currently operates. According to the MTNL, the new clients opting for copper cable-based connection will not have to pay even installation charges but will need to buy a modem for the service. Recently the organisation also launched a free broadband plan for its landline users and new customers for a month in the wake of coronavirus spread. Another Government-run organisation Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) also rolled out the “[email protected]” broadband plan for its users in the country. The company will now offer free Internet access to its existing landline customers to support work from home. The new plan comes with 10Mbps download speeds with a cap of 5GB per day. On exceeding the limit the users will be able to access the internet at 1Mbps speed. There is no download as well as upload limits and no installation charges. Moreover, the plan is also going to provide email ID access with 1GB storage space free of cost. This plan is applicable to all the BSNL landline subscribers in the country including Andaman and Nicobar circle for a period of one month from the date of activation.
